The Buddhist sites in Nalgonda are Phanigiri, Gajulabanda and Yeleswaram. Nagarjuna Sagar, a popular Buddhist site, is named after the Buddhist scholar Acharya Nagarjuna, who established an educational center there. 





In Nalgonda there are popular forts and religious sites. Other popular tourist attractions near Nalgonda include Ethipothala Falls, Sri Laxminarsimha Swamy at Yadagirigutta (also known as Second Tirupathi), Bhongir Fort, Deverakonda Fort, Sri Meenakshi Agastheswara Swamy (Wadapally) and Sri Jain Mandir at Kolanupaka (an 800-meter-long temple! years old!), Swayambhu Sambhulingeswara Swami at Mellacheruvu and Nandikonda on the banks of the Krishna river. 



 Other tourist places in Nalgonda are interesting, tourist and spiritual places like Panagal Temple in Panagal, Rachakonda and Pillamari Temple in Suryapet. 

The famous Pochampally sarees are woven in Pochampally and exported all over the world. Today, agriculture and horticulture are the main sources of income for the Nalgonda county.
